Michael is a senior lecturer in the Owen Graduate School of Management at Vanderbilt University where he teaches Healthcare Innovation and Launching the Venture in the MBA and Executive MBA programs. He is also a frequent national speaker on executive leadership, entrepreneurial thinking and innovation.
Michael is the founder and CEO of Narus Health focusing on managing difficult-to treat, end-of-life health conditions. Previously, Michael was the founder and CEO of two other successful investor-backed healthcare start-ups – ParadigmHealth and Theraphysics.
Michael was the founding President and CEO of the Nashville Entrepreneur Center, which he grew in five years to be recognized as one of the country’s leading programs for developing successful start-up business in a variety of fields. After college he worked for Hospital Corporation of America where he was promoted to Vice President of Managed Care for Centennial Medical Center.
Michael currently serves as the Co-Chair of the National Advisory Council on Innovation and Entrepreneurship for the U.S. Secretary of Commerce. He is a member of the Nashville Capital Network and serves on the Board of the Nashville Technology Council, Nashville’s International Business Council and Nashville’s Small Business Council.
Michael holds an MBA and a Doctorate in Health Administration. In addition to his 5 am workouts, he values quality time with friends and family with a good bottle of wine.
