David Furse

Dr. Furse has over 40 years experience as a professor, business entrepreneur and strategy consultant. As a senior consultant, he facilitates the StrategyMap© process he developed to help companies build executable strategies and roadmaps. He helps senior leaders hold themselves and others accountable. He is the weekly sounding board and reality check for CEOs.

David served on the faculty at Michigan State University and Vanderbilt University teaching marketing, corporate strategy and entrepreneurship in the MBA and undergraduate business programs. He created The Entrepreneurial Challenge, an undergraduate immersion course where advanced student teams develop strategies for original business ideas. He launched his own research company, Nashville Consulting Group (NCG) and grew the business to serve 600 corporate and healthcare clients in three countries before selling the business to an investor group.

David holds a Ph.D. in Business Administration and a Masters degree in Marketing Communication. He also served as Public Information Officer in the Ninth Infantry Division in South Vietnam, where he received the Bronze Star, Air Medal, Army Commendation Medal, and Purple Heart.

His favorite pastime is reading business books and articles on leadership, corporate culture, strategy, and motivation. He is a frequent traveler to many different countries.
